As part of the activities of World Population Day 2025 drawing ,elocution and essay writing competitions were conducted in Railway Higher Secondary School CBSE in the second week of July. Around 40 students from 6th to 12 th actively participated in the competition . On July 14th prize distribution ceremony was conducted. Dr S Kalyani PCMD /RH /PER graced the occasion . Ms B. Keerthi Priya. XB and Ms M. S. Ashwitha XIIB the prize winners of the elocution competition spoke on the impact of population growth on environment. Dr S Kalyani PCMD RH PER gave an extensive and informative lecture on the effects of population growth ,resource depletion, pollution, habitat destruction, and the strain on natural resources and ecosystems. She also higlighted the statistics ,and emphasised on the theme to empower young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competition .Around 80 students attended the lecture.The programme ended with a vote of thanks and a word of appreciation for the participants by Dr Lalitha K P. The programme was also attended by Mrs Asha Extension Educator H&FW and the teachers and staff of Railway School.
