Department of Cardiology

General Info

The Hospital was established in the British era in 1928.

This Cardiology department is situated in Southern Railway Head Quarters Hospital, Perambur, Ch-23 and it was inaugurated by Dr.Cherian. In this department, there are four faculties working.

This department placed vital role in this hospital and all over Indian railways. There are so many patients visit for their treatment from all Indian railways.

Consultants are working clock wise duty and also as a clinical consultant. in this department technicians are doing their best in Echo cardiogram, ECG, TMT, ABPM and Holter methods doing based on patients emergency in the outlook of doctors.

An averagely 150-160 patients are taking consultant by doctors per day. In this cardiology OPD one third patients are belongs to other railway patients and 2/3rd patients are belongs to southern railway and ICF.

This department has been maintained Emergency set up also in the OPD. This department consist of Male Cardiology ward, female cardiology ward, semi ICU, Cardiology Special ward.

These department angles are working by shift duties. By their vital role the patients are recover earlier. As an excellent administrator of the department patients getting best treatment without ado.

At last but least the cardiologist give their best not only in treatment, also in service. They take care about elderly persons and childrens, women with their nice words will make them recover from disease very soon.

Services

  • List of patient service: Referred for blood test, X-Ray,CT, MRI, USG scan test based on their requirements. Providing ambulance service to patience convenience for to and fro.
  • surgical procedures: Doing Coronary angiogram, and all type of interventions, TAVR
  • Equipment available in the department: Two Cath Lab, ECHO machine, ECG, TMT, ABPM, Holter machines are used for railway beneficiaries.
