The Central Library at Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital was inaugurated in the year 2000 in the second floor of Nephrology block. It was later shifted to the current air-conditioned hall in the year 2022.
It is an expansive facility catering to the needs of medical students and health care professionals at the hospital belonging to diverse disciplines of medicine. The layout is meticulously organized to facilitate ease of access and efficient use of resources.
The wide array of resources includes textbooks, medical journals, research papers and electronic databases. The reference book bank includes 902 books and 40 medical journals of which 20 are international, spread across various branches of medicine. It further houses copies of theses of the outgoing DNB postgraduates of the institute which serve as references for the incumbent students.
The library also offers a designated study area equipped with ergonomic seating and ample desk space.
