An awareness program commemorating WORLD DIABETES DAY 2024 was observed in New OPD Block of Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital, Perambur On 14.11.2024.
Dr.Nirmala Rajaram, PCMD/PER, Dr.S.Kalyani, MD/RH/PER, Dr.V.Kannan, CSS/ADMIN/RH/PER, Dr. Radha Vijayaraghavan ACHD/HOD of Medicine , Dr. King Gandhi ACHD/HOD of General surgery , Dr. K.P. Lalitha, ACHD/Health and Family welfare, Dr.J.Chitra/ ACHD/OPD In charge Presided over the function along with other medical officers.
The programme was initiated with an introductory speech by Dr. K.P. Lalitha, ACHD/HFW. Dr. King Gandhi, HOD of General surgery detailed about diabetes, risk factors and its complications with special emphasis on management of Diabetic foot ulcers followed by the discussion on the theme of the year,” Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps” by Dr. Radha Vijayaraghavan HOD of Medicine. Dr.S.Kalyani advocated on promoting the healthier lifestyle and the shared commitment to prevent diabetes. Dr.V.Kannan focussed on the Diabetic care services, and Dr.J.Chitra highlighted on quality treatment and care for diabetic patients. The powerpoint slides is displayed in the OPD complex, drawing the key-points and facts on Diabetes. The programme was well perceived and around 200 people benefitted.
