World Mental Health Day was observed by the Department of Psychiatry on 09/10/24 at the Carriage Workshop, Perambur.
Shri.Rahul Anil, Dy.CPO, Smt.Swapna, Dy.CMM, Smt.B.Jayabarathy, APO, Shri.Sivasankara, APE, Shri.P.Srinivasan, Chief Staff & Welfare Inspector, Shri.Ramesh, Staff & Welfare Inspector, and Shri.Sathish, Safety Officer graced the occasion.
Dr.P.Hemalatha, ACHD, Psychiatry gave introduction and highlighted upon the theme for this year, " It's time to prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace". Identification and management of stress and mental health problems were discussed by Miss.Manisha Sivadharshini and Shri.Sharan, both Contract Psychologists. WHO agendas on Mental Health and Employees Assistance Programs were discussed by Dr.Sahanavarshini, DMO, Psychiatry. Dr. Naveena, Yoga and Naturopathy Medical officer, AYUSH, highlighted upon the right dietary habits. She also taught Breathing exercises and Chair Yoga for Stress relief. The program ended with an ice breaking activity session. About 60 members participated with great enthusiasm and were benefited from the program. Pamphlets were distributed on Management of Stress at Work place and a brief Screening Questionnaire was administered to the participants. About 54 members participated in the screening test to assess for Stress.
