On the eve of National Bone and Joint day 2024, the campaign explaining the themes of this year was organized at Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital, Chennai. On 3rd August 2024, the event was organized by the department of Orthopedics. The event had around 100 participants (20 police personnels from Railway Protection force, 35 nursing students and 40 drivers from railway workshops. The event was presided by PCMD/HQ Hospital Dr Nirmala mam and MD/RH/PER Dr Kalyani mam.
Dr V Kannan/CSS/Admin , HOD Ortho explained the theme. This year’s theme of Road safety was enforced by PowerPoint presentations, depictive posters by the postgraduates of the department of Orthopedics by Dr Naresh Patnapu and Dr Praveen and explained by Dr.D.Dhanalakshmi. Demonstration of Basic Life support was done using mannequin with active participation from the attendees by Dr Prabha Parvathy, Anaesthesia Post graduate and explained by Dr Kamatchi Selvam, HOD, Department of Anaesthesiology. Talks were delivered by Dr.T E Ramesh and Dr. R Santosh Balaji.
In continuation with the celebration of National Bone and Joint week 2024, an awareness program was organized at Railway Mixed school, Perambur by the Department of Orthopaedics, Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital, Chennai. Around 200, Students of Class IX and X attended the session. Dr D Dhanalakshmi, Chief consultant, Orthopaedics and Dr R Santosh Balaji stressed the importance of the theme. This year’s theme of Road safety was enforced by PowerPoint presentations, posters by the postgraduates of the department of Orthopedics. Demonstration of Basic Life support was done using mannequin with active participation and hands on training to the students by Dr Balasundaram, Resident, Department of Anaesthesiology.
