Anti Leprosy Day 2024 has been observed with the theme of BEAT LEPROSY, END STIGMA, EMBRACE DIGNITY at southern Railway Head Quarters Hospital, Perambur on 31.01.24
Dr. A. Therasal Valarmathi SrDMO/RH/PER has screened around 100 patients of all ages. Patients with skin problems have been evaluated for Hansen’s disease and information regarding Hansen’s disease, mode of transmission, its various manifestations, complications including hand foot & eye deformities , prevention and curative treatment has been delivered individually for those who have attended the screening program. Patients have been educated mainly to end stigma of leprosy.
Mrs. Asha Sr. District extension educator has also clarified the doubts of patients about Hansen’s disease.
Two posters have been displayed regarding care of Leprosy patients with eye, hand and foot deformities.
