As a part of various Health programmes , “World Tuberculosis Day” day awareness program was conducted in the OP block at NRH/PER. The WHO theme for 2024 is "Yes, We can end TB".
A Skit was presented by nursing students from GRT school of Nursing regarding TB Awareness.
Awareness speech regarding prevention and management of TB were given by Dr.S.Kalyani - MD/RH/PER, Dr.Raja Rajeshwari - ACHD Health and Family welfare, Dr.Bathool - Medical officer -National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme and Dr.G.Arun Kumar -Sr.DMO, TB Nodal officer/RH/PER. Mrs.Subha - Dietician, explained the diet pattern to be followed by TB patients as well as healthy diet pattern that can be followed to prevent TB.
Pledge to end TB by 2025 was taken by all the attendees.
A patient awareness quiz program was conducted and prizes were distributed to winners. Memento were distributed to the GRT school of nursing students by Dr.Radha Vijayaraghavan HOD Department of General Medicine, Dr.Praveen and Dr.Bathool - Medical officers -NTEP. Banners,Posters were displyed. Around 200 Employees,dependent and staffs participated the program.
